What is a Life Coach?

A Life Coach helps people reach their personal and professional goals.  It is a collaborative relationship to help clients co-create desired goals. Life Coaching inspires clients to design action steps for themselves and holds clients accountable for reaching these goals. All Life Coaching sessions at Bright Futures Wellness Center follow the ICF Code of Ethics and are confidential as agreed to in the coaching contract.

What is Reiki?

Reiki Energy Work is a practice of guiding energy throughout the body. This energy flows to promote relaxation, ease stress and tension, and connect people with their own healing energy. All ages can benefit from Reiki.
Reiki is non-denominational and supports the religious beliefs you bring to the session.


Reiki is NOT massage.  Reiki practitioners gently lay hands on parts of the body (head, neck, chin, collarbone, abdomen, hips, knees, ankles and feet) but it is completely up to the client- we always ask permission before touching you anywhere! We can skip whatever areas are out of the comfort zone. We can also practice Reiki without touching at all, but it’s not as effective. Our goal is to make our clients as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

What yoga is taught at Bright Futures Wellness Center?

Our yoga classes combine meditation, breathing techniques, physical exercises and mantra. It balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system and harnesses the energy of the mind and emotions, to take control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. It is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions. It focuses on self-awareness and tapping into higher consciousness. Our yoga classes are universal and non-denominational. 

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a state of keeping one’s focus on the present moment.  Often achieved through meditation or other training, it is the ability to tune in and be fully present without being distracted by surrounding influences. This state includes the release of past regrets and future worries.  Mindfulness is the awareness of our present thoughts, emotions, physical state and current environment while remaining calm and loving to ourselves and others as appropriate.
